In support of Maternal Mental Health we thought we In support of Maternal Mental Health we thought we'd share one of our favourite podcasts that may help you find comfort and connection.

"1 in 5 Mothers, 1 in 10 Fathers", produced in collaboration with the Gidget Foundation. It’s a powerful reminder that healing starts with honesty—and you're never alone on this journey.

Paired with expert insights from psychologists and counsellors in the field, this podcast explores the realities of parenthood, breaks down stigma surrounding perinatal mental health, and gives you the tools on how and when to seek support.

Blue Leaf and Million are kicking off Neighbourhood Centre Week with a celebration of creativity, community and green living. Explore hands-on workshops while sharing food and stories. Together we’ll explore how small acts can ripple out to create big waves of change - for us, our community and our planet.

Neighbourhood Centre Week is a national celebration of the role community centres play in creating welcoming, supportive spaces right across Australia. This year’s theme, Ripples of Change, is all about the power of small, meaningful moments – and how they strengthen communities just like ours. So come along and get involved. The ripple begins with you.

Its Maternal Mental Health Week, we’re shining a Its Maternal Mental Health Week, we’re shining a light on the silent struggles that many women and families face during pregnancy and the first years after birth.

Maternal mental health problems—including postnatal depression and anxiety—can affect anyone, yet they are still misunderstood, overlooked, or dismissed far too often.

1 in 5 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers experience perinatal depression or anxiety. That’s not a rare issue. And yet, stigma and a lack of awareness often prevent people from speaking up or reaching out.

If you're a mum/carer and struggling, you are not alone and help is available.

Your first step is speaking to your Child Health Nurse (CHN). They’re trained to support your mental health, and they can:
• Offer regular check-ins
• Refer you to trusted support services like Radiance
• Connect you with specialist care such as the Ngala residential parenting unit in Perth

Our Child & Parent Centres in Carey Park and Collie Valley have wonderful Child Health Nurses that regularly work out of the centre. To book an appointment call 1800 457 949
